About
I was born in Essex England, I studied Foundation Art at Colchester School of Art then 3D Design (Ceramics) at Bath Academy of Art. After Art School I taught ceramics at Colchester School of Art for a year then decided to follow my love of drawing and illustrating and worked for the BBC and Thames Television, illustrating children's stories to be read on television.
After emigrating to Australia in 1985, I worked as an illustrator mainly for educational publishers.
I love drawing, illustrating, portraiture and enjoy marbling and bookbinding.
As well as illustrating I teach young students at the Art Gallery of Ballarat, drawing, cartooning, marbling and bookbinding.
About
My path to Pet Portraits began in the late 70’s on a sea-side promenade in Italy drawing people’s portraits. It was scary at first, then I became so absorbed in my work that eventually I could work without noticing large noisy crowds right up close to me.
My love of drawing led me to illustrating for children’s T.V. on the B.B.C. and Thames T.V. in the U.K. When I moved to Australia I illustrated children’s books, mainly for educational publishers.
My first Pet Portraits were done at Gasworks Park in Melbourne as part of their Dog Day weekends.
I am now based in Ballarat, Victoria working as a Pet Portrait Artist and Educator, drawing on my skills from 5 years at Art School in the U.K. and many years of Arts practise.
