Commission Pet Portraits

I understand how important pets are in ours lives and acknowledge their individual personalities. I take pride in aiming to capture their unique character and creating for you a high quality piece of art that will last a lifetime.

1. Pick a style

I offer two main styles to choose from. First step is deciding what style and price suits you. I am also happy to negotiate other sizes to suit your needs.

Style 1 Pastel Sketch

For this option I draw in a style which uses a lighter pastel effect where the background colour becomes part of the shading. This sketch style which gives a lively look.  

Style 2 Detailed Pastel

The detailed pastel portrait, may look similar to the pastel sketch at first however the pastel colours have been built layer upon layer. This process takes longer and creates a more detailed and realistic effect.

2. Take Photos

The next and most important step is choosing and taking photos of your pet. These pastel portraits are drawn from photos as they take many hours to complete. Your photos have a big impact on the quality of the final piece and I cannot stress enough that the better the photo ultimately means a better portrait. I ask for you to provide several pictures of your pet so I can get an insight into their character as it isn't always possible for me to meet them depending on your location. From the selection of photos we will work together to come up with the best for your portrait.

I also offer free of charge a photography service at my home to help you.

3. Get in contact

Once you have decided the style of portrait that suits you and taken several photos please Contact me via email. We can discuss any queries you may have and also work together to come up with the best picture for the portrait. Once an image is decided I ask that you read my Terms and Conditions and pay 25% non-refundable deposit. Once the deposit is payed and details confirmed expect approximately a 3 week turn around from initial deposit to finished work. However if a shorter deadline needs to be met for a special occasion I shall do my best to accommodate for this.
